A Math Room is a welcoming, hands-on space where guests of all ages can explore math through play, puzzles, and discovery. Activities are designed to spark curiosity and invite open-ended exploration – no worksheets, no pressure. Just joyful, creative encounters with math in a comfortable setting. The Math Room is made possible in partnership with the MathHappens Foundation, a nonprofit organization bringing meaningful math experiences to public spaces across the country.

Experience two exhibitions in one as you crawl, climb, and slide through an immersive network of twisting tunnels and hidden caves crafted entirely from ordinary packing tape. INVISIBLE PALETTES is a collaborative art/science project, combining a series of paintings by Penny Cagney, which were inspired by and in collaboration with Nobel Laureate Frank Wilczek, Professor Nathan Newman, the ASU SciHub team and their device, the Hylighter, which has ten programmable monochromatic lights.

Immersive visualizations showcase the solar system with unprecedented accuracy, including a landing on the cratered surface of our own Moon, a dramatic flight through the swirling rings of Saturn, and soaring encounters with distant worlds of active volcanoes and buried oceans. Featuring breathtaking visuals and cutting-edge science, Worlds Beyond Earth is a dazzling celebration of the Age of Exploration and the unique conditions that make life on Earth possible. Worlds Beyond Earth was created by the American Museum of Natural History, the Frederick Phineas and Sandra Priest Rose Center for Earth and Space, and the Hayden Planetarium.

Narrated by Tom Hanks, in Passport to the Universe you can fly beneath the rings of Saturn, into the heart of the Orion Nebula, and out into the vastness of space to experience stunning cosmic destinations as never before possible. Passport to the Universe was developed by the American Museum of Natural History, New York in collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). (20 minutes)

This is the story of how a revolution in one of the most basic of all human enterprises – the making of maps – is shedding new light on our planet’s evolution in the wake of rising global temperatures. Using stunning, latest-generation imagery from space, Atlas of a Changing Earth takes viewers into the dynamic processes causing coastal glaciers in Greenland and Antarctica to melt, and explores how rising seas could threaten coastlines the world over. These striking new images are produced by the confluence of satellites and supercomputers, revealing Earth in a degree of precise detail scarcely imagined a generation ago. (24 minutes)

A new film by Guy Reid and Planetary Collective, Orbital transports you through an abstract landscape of light, inspired by bioluminescent earthly beings and atmospheric aurorae. Guided by the astronauts of Constellation Coalition who have looked back and experienced the awe of our place in the universe, you will feel your own “Overview Effect” as you meditate on our planet in Shared Reality.
