Snow in Phoenix: Arizona Science Center Brings Blizzard to the Valley
Snow Week to Offer Signature Snow Hill and Subzero Science for Families to Enjoy This Holiday Season
PHOENIX – Arizona Science Center is bringing a winter wonderland to the heart of the Valley with its 14th annual Snow Week, happening from December 26 through January 4. Everyone in Arizona—and beyond—is invited to celebrate the season with fun, laughter, and a hands-on journey into the wonders of snow and ice.
Snow Week brings a blizzard of fun for all ages, featuring dazzling demonstrations, a Fire ‘n’ Ice SNOWdown, a Snow Construction Zone, and hands-on Science of Ice and Snow Curiosity Cart Activities like ice fishing, snowball launchers, snowstorms in a jar, and Insta-Snow. Guests can dive into subzero science discussions, enjoy the crowd-favorite Clouds of Fun demonstration to close each day, and make memories at the famous Snow Hill, conveniently located near the Arizona Science Center’s front entrance.
“Our Snow Hill gives Arizonans—whether it’s their first snowy experience or not—the chance to make snow angels, dive into epic snowball fights, and feel what a real, frosty winter is all about,” said Tammy Stewart, Interim Hazel A. Hare President & CEO of the Arizona Science Center. “We recommend wearing waterproof gloves and shoes so you and your family can fully enjoy this chilly wonderland!”
Snow Week is generously supported by EPCOR, Arizona's largest regulated utility dedicated to providing communities with clean, reliable water and returning 96 percent of the water it collects and treats to the water cycle. Its support ensures families can enjoy hands-on winter fun while celebrating the importance of sustainability and responsible resource stewardship.
“Snow starts with water, and providing clean, reliable water is what we do every day,” said Becky Burleigh, Vice President of Corporate Services for EPCOR. “We’re proud to sponsor Snow Week because it brings the water cycle to life for kids and helps them understand why water matters and why protecting it is essential for Arizona’s future.
